Preparing for surgery involves more than completing paperwork. A preoperative visit is an opportunity to review your health, identify medical issues that could affect your procedure or recovery, and help make sure you are medically prepared for surgery.
During your visit, we may:
Review your medical history, medications, allergies, and prior surgical or anesthesia experiences
Assess chronic medical conditions that may affect surgical risk
Perform a physical examination
Review any preoperative requirements provided by your surgeon
Order appropriate laboratory testing, an EKG, or other testing when medically indicated
Provide recommendations regarding medication management and medical optimization before surgery
Complete and send preoperative documentation to your surgical team
An important note about preoperative evaluations:
A preoperative visit is a medical assessment, not a guarantee of surgical clearance. Our goal is to identify and address factors that could affect the safety of your procedure. Depending on your assessment, we sometimes recommend additional testing, evaluation, or treatment prior to proceeding with surgery.
We are based in Orange, California and serve patients throughout Orange County, including Anaheim, Santa Ana, Tustin, Fullerton, Garden Grove, and nearby communities.
